ALUMINOR is the winner of the CSR Trophy for SMEs in the South Region

The 19th Transitions and CSR Trophies ceremony took place in Marseille on December 11, 2023, in front of 300 people, business leaders, institutions and associations.

15 companies have been named and 6 rewarded by a unique jury in France composed of employee unions (FO, CFDT, CFE CGC) and employers' unions (UPE, MEDFE, CPME) and institutions (DREAL, DREETS).

The jury particularly appreciated in ALUMINOR's application the fact that "the current team is bringing back to light a dormant industrial gem, by relocating to France a manufacturing facility that had started in Asia, by relying on its employees, an integrated design office and eco-design to create and manufacture interior lighting fixtures, sometimes tailor-made for its customers, while putting CSR at the heart of its development strategy."

What struck the jury, It is “ that a company with 18 employees has defined its purpose with all of its internal and external stakeholders and has been a Mission-Driven Company since December 2022”.

Developing French manufacturing and helping to relocate industry

Since the acquisition of the company in 2018, the ALUMINOR team has in fact revitalized this “sleeping beauty” by moving from 15% of turnover achieved with lighting fixtures manufactured in its workshops in Nice in 2018 at 45% today with a target of 75% in 2026.

To achieve this, " we have created a design office that allows us to develop our own lighting collections and also to respond to requests for custom lighting for architects, decorators, space planners, hotels, etc., " explains Richard BARBETT, CEO of ALUMINOR.

Manufacturing while integrating CSR

*ALUMINOR has integrated two people who were far from employment into the team. The company has gone from 10 to 18 employees on a permanent contract. She regularly organizes team building days, offers each employee a birthday day and works with a local ESAT.

*Redesign of all packaging, reduction of manufacturing waste, recovery of waste, optimization of the number of components…ALUMINOR works daily to reduce its impact on the environment.

The team's skills development in eco-design has notably made it possible to design and manufacture the first eco-designed light fixture , the TRIO2 floor lamp. Result: 45% fewer impacts on the environment! (Life Cycle Analysis carried out by the Ecodesign Center according to the ISO 14040 standard)

*ALUMINOR is involved in local economic life by working with associations (EVP, ABI06, Emmaus, Soli-cités…) and by building partnerships with local stakeholders.
